Auckland Council recently appointed Storyation, a specialist content marketing agency, as the official partner for the Our Auckland magazine.
The agency will help publish the bi-monthly magazine, as well as support the council to produce additional video and digital content as part of the Our Auckland online range.
Auckland Council General Manager of Communication Dan Lamber issued a statement on the matter, saying that they delighted to partner up with Storyation as they continue to develop their Our Auckland magazine and digital offerings, with the goal of providing relevant and timely content to Aucklanders that also makes them proud to be Aucklanders.
Lamber says that, with Storynation’s experience in journalism and digital expertise, they’re well-equipped to help the Our Auckland brand create content that connects Aucklanders with Tamaki Makaurau.
Storyation was co-founded by Lauren Quaintance, a former editor for Metro magazine, with the agency’s New Zealand office located at Auckland’s Karangahape Road.
The agency is a subsidiary of Medium Rare, which has clients like Z Energy, Paralympics New Zealand, AMI Insurance, and Chartered Accountants Australia and NZ.
The contract is valued at $803,000 per annum, which is about $100,000 less than the prior contract with Bauer. Ad revenue will provide support for the magazine, as with the prior contract.
Our Auckland delivers about 550,000 copies to households across the greater Auckland area, plus an additional 7,000 copies distributed via libraries, Auckland Council Service Centers and transport hubs. This means that the Our Auckland magazine has a lot more reach that most magazine titles in New Zealand.
Quaintance stated that they’re thrilled that the Auckland Council saw what they could do with king kong agency reviews and the like, and choose them for this partnership.
