Data From Linkedin Shows Fastest Growing Jobs In The UK

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the jobs market has been rather troubled across the world, and the UK is no exception.

LinkedIn, one of the world’s biggest professional social media networks, released data regarding the UK’s job market, talking about the fastest-growing jobs in the country, which industries like Commercial Illustration, healthcare, and e-commerce seeing big boosts.

The fastest-growing jobs in the UK are the following:

E-commerce personnel

 (Retail, Order Fulfillment and Picking, Professional Driving, Warehouse Operations) 

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a boom in online shopping, which has resulted in companies across the UK in order to ensure that the increased customer demand is properly met.

E-commerce roles, like a driver, supply chain assistant, online specialist, and the like, grew 143% in 2020 compared to 2019.

Creative freelancers

(Illustration, Writer, Voiceover Artist, etc.)

The pandemic has resulted in uncertainty and unemployment across the world, which has resulted in a boost in the freelancing industry as people become freelancers in order to make ends meet.

Companies also looked to boost their presence online, and they’ve turned to the expertise of creative freelancers to help them.

YouTube, Blogging, and other freelancing industries saw an increase of 118%. Meanwhile, industries like writing, Commercial Illustration, scriptwriting, and the like, saw an increase of 69%.

Healthcare support staff

COVID-19 has placed an incredible amount of strain in the global healthcare industry, with the UK being no exception, especially given the new variants of the virus. Understandably, this has raised the demand for healthcare professionals, which, in turn, has boosted demand for healthcare support professionals, like Healthcare Assistants.

LinkedIn’s data show a 104% increase in healthcare support staff jobs, like Healthcare Assistant, Health Advisor, Home Health Aides, and the like.

Specialized medical professionals

(Healthcare, Clinical Research, Medicine, etc.)

NHS staff saw a lot of strain in 2020, with everyone working to keep up with COVID-19 cases across the country. Intensive Care Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, the people working on the frontline, saw the biggest boosts, with a 155% and 133% growth, respectively.

Overall, 2020 saw a 58% increase in specialized medical professional roles.
