There’ll be some new models in Honda motorbike dealers across the AU, but they’re not for sale, as Honda commemorates 5 decades of operations in the country.
The manufacturing company made a range of one-of-a-kind golden products for the commemoration, designed to highlight the wide range of products available from the company. Across various segments, the company’s products have managed to deliver over 5 million sales for the brand in the AU, since it launched on February 4, 1969.
Cars will be represented in the celebratory line with a single, golden iteration of the latest models of the NSX, and Civic Type R. For bikes, the CBR 1000RR Fireblade, the CRF450L enduro and the CRF50F children’s bike will represent. A locally-assembled HRU19 Buffalo lawnmower, as well as an EU22i Generator will represent the non-vehicle segment.
The gold collection, the company states, will be for inspiring and thanking Honda Australia customers across the country, throughout 2019. These models were made in cooperation with Vinyl Wraps and Graphics in Melbourne. Their distinct auric colouration is due to a gold chrome film, laminated with a clear satin film to minimise reflectivity, creating a distinct finish that looks like something out of a film.
Honda Australia Managing Director and CEO Hiroyuki Shimizu says that the brand’s 50th birthday present to itself is a bold, fun and distinct way to celebrate its diversity. He mused that few, if any, have actually seen a golden mower or generator. Shimizu also expressed excitement on behalf of the company, saying that they’re looking forward to showing off these golden products to their Honda motorbike dealers across the AU throughout 2019, with more information on the matter to come soon.
He says that the customers are the most important thing to the company, as without the customers, he says, the company is nothing. He says that both long-time customers and new customers helped make Honda Australia what it is today, and that he, as well as the rest of the company, are grateful to all of their customers for their loyalty, trust, and belief in the Honda brand.
