This is because the designer must be able to find the right balance to make sure that the style used is authentic while ensuring that it is also not that far from the current fashion trends.
Neeta Lulla is also the designer of the movie called Mohenjo Daro which was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and played by the actor Hrithik Roshan. Lulla was also able to work with other films that are also under the direction of Gowariker such as Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Jodha Akbar and What’s Your Rashee?
The film Mohenjo Daro is a period movie that is set at the time of the Indus Valley civilization. The epic movie has an adventure combined with drama genre that features the actor Roshan as well as the new celebrity in the business, Pooja Hegde.
According to Lulla, they were provided the script as well as the research material for the movie. Their task was to design the costumes accordingly. Lulla is a renowned designer after having won the Indian National Award for a Designer. She said that the biggest challenge for her is to make sure they are doing justice to the specific era that the movie Mohenjo Daro portrays. She also has to take into consideration the preference of the audience. In creating the movie costumes, they were not provided with visuals which also adds to the challenge.
